Ziro, Jul 17: An intensive IEC campaign on COVID-19 by the Dwbo Goan Bura Buri Association in collaboration with Department of IPR, Lower Subansiri District under Arunachal Rising campaign was launched today.
Lauding the efforts of the Dwbo Goan Bura Buri Association, DC said that when responsible seniors in society selflessly lead from the front, the crowd is bound to listen.
“However we should ensure the senior Goan Buras and Buris falling under the high risk category should not be involved. All the SOPs issued by the government should be followed in letter and spirit,” she added.
The Dwbo Goan Bura Buri Association covers the three villages Dutta, Mudang Tage and Bamin Michi. As a part of the IEC campaign 80 hoardings pertaining to health and hygiene and Covid precautionary measures have been erected in these villages. Miking / broadcasting of the same shall be carried out in the local dialects regularly.
Also as a part of the campaign Department of IPR under the Arunachal Rising campaign has roped in the federal bodies of Apatani Youth Association (AYA) to intensify awareness on Covid in their respective villages as all the villages under Ziro –I administrative block has initiated stringent local lockdowns.
“We assure all possible assistance to the administration in combating this pandemic. Since awareness is the key to prevention, all the federal units of AYA shall definitely co-operate,” said Shri Habung Tamang, President AYA, while extending cooperation to the department.
