ITANAGAR, Jul 1: A Design Thinking and Ideation Workshop was organised today by The Innovation Hub of Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre (APSC) attended by about hundred students from local schools.
The interactive workshop was organised to address certain deficiencies of the students of the state identified after many observations, such as inability to identify a problem correctly, failing to develop projects properly or lacking originality of ideas which all had actually contributed to the missing of awards in various national competitions. Scientist and Regional Coordinator for the North East Region, National Innovation Foundation-India (NIF) Dr Nitin Maurya was the resource person and the students were explained about the process of problem identification, problem defining, brain storming, generation & evaluation of ideas, lateral thinking and ideation exercises etc.
Science and Technology Director C.D Mungyak laid emphasis on creativity and innovative thinking for the students and invited them to be members of the Innovation Hub and convert their innovative ideas into prototypes and products. APSC and NIF together have joined hands to promote the original creative ideas of students and other grassroots innovators from the state. Innovation Hub Chief Mentor Dr R.M Altekar introduced the activities of the innovation hub and urged students to make use of all the facilities available. The students were also taken around the Innovation Hub to show the facilities and demonstrate some projects undertaken by its members.
