ITANAGAR, Jul 6: State’s Covid casualty count on Tuesday evening reached 181 following the expiry of two Covid patients, one from the Itanagar Capital Complex and the other from Changlang. Like the past few days, new cases have once again outnumbered the recoveries.
Casualties
At DCH Chimpu, a 28-yr old female from the ICC expired today due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. A 70-yr old male from Changlang died at AMCH Dibrugarh on July 3 last due to post-Covid pneumonia and cardio-respiratory failure. In both the above cases, none of the patients were suffering from any comorbidity and were not Covid vaccinated.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
A total of 348 new cases (asymptomatic 186; symptomatic 162) were recorded from across the state. ICC recorded the highest number of infections with 102, followed by East Siang (30), West Kameng (26), Upper Subansiri (20), Lohit (19) and Papum Pare (17). Among the 291 new recoveries, the first 4 districts were West Kameng (57), ICC (52), Lohit (34) and East Siang (30).
Till 8 pm on Tuesday evening, the state’s active caseload was 3173 and recoveries 34525. Of the 5304 samples collected, 1149 were from the ICC.
Vaccination
Coverage percentage for the '18 years and above' age category has now reached 68 with 7028 taking their first jabs on the day and with 3527 receiving their 2nd shots, the coverage percentage has reached 18. So far, 82% of the state’s HCWs and 92% of the FLWs have been vaccinated.
Occupancy status
Till 8 pm on Tuesday, it was 52 at DCH Chimpu, 43 at SQF Lekhi, 1 at DCHC Midpu, 13 at DCH Pasighat and 33 at DCHC.
