ITANAGAR, Jul 31: Human Rights Law Network and North East Human Rights Organisation has jointly submitted a representation to the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Chairperson, Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women and President, Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society seeking immediate intervention and constitution of a high-level committee to unearth the truth regarding the death of a woman employee of Arunachal Pradesh Consumer’s Cooperative Federation Ltd, Naharlagun.
In its representation, the organisations said that they have received a complaint from the brother of the deceased late Tadu Obey informing that he had lodged an FIR against managing director of APCCF LTD at Naharlagun on July 27 for asking his sister for VRS forcefully against her will and harassed her since 2018. Later she died shortly after falling unconscious in the office chamber of the MD.
The deceased brother had approached with a written letter to SP, Itanagar, requesting him to give the necessary direction to the Naharlagun Police station for registering the said FIR but no appropriate action has been taken till date. After, almost 34 days of the incident the FIR has not been registered, the family of the deceased feels deprived of the right to justice, claimed the organisations in its representation.
The Human Rights Law Network and North East Human Rights Organization urged the concerned authority to direct an impartial agency to unearth the prevailing harassment in the federation which took the life of a woman and also appealed for early intervention on VRS pending orders of other six employees who are facing similar harassment.
