ITANAGAR, Mar 22: The International Human Rights Organization (IHRO) Arunachal Chapter has lodged a Zero FIR against a policeman and others for inflicting grievous injury on an individual and has demanded proper investigation of the case to unearth the truth and punish wrongdoers.
The Zero FIR has been lodged against Constable S.K Singh of Police Station, Mechukha, and others for causing grievous hurt and voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and violating the Provisions of ST/SC(Prevention of
Atrocities)Act 1989 that was inflicted upon Tachuk Padu, a Panchayat leader of Padusa village of Shi-Yomi District  without any valid grounds, the Human Rights body said.
The organization said that on the evening of March 18 last, Padu was taken to the police station and badly beaten up by Singh over a petty matter.
Padu has been admitted to TRIHMS Naharlagun for further treatment.
After the incident, on March 19, Police Station Mechukha booked him under case no 02/22 U/s 447/353/323/506 IPC which seems to be fishy to cover-up the wrong doing of the police, the IHRO said.
The Zero FIR was made with reference to the complaint lodged by Taje Padu, the younger brother of the victim and based on video footage on social media.
