PASIGHAT, Dec 16: Three months long, second batch state level foundation training course for horticulture field staff came to an end today at the Pasighat Horticulture Training Centre, in 2-Mile area. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh, DAO Ajit Pao and Dean of CHF Prof. Dr. BN Hazarika graced the valedictory function as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively.
Twenty two in-service horticulture field functionaries including HFAs, FAs, FMs and Grafters from Siang, East Siang, West Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Papum Pare, West Kameng, Tawang, Regional Apple Nursery (Dirang) and Jomlo Farm underwent the said training program. Experts from the parent department and forty-one trainers from the College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) imparted the training on various subjects and latest technological development in horticulture sectors, during the training.
Addressing the valedictory function, DC Dr. Kinny Singh lauded the efforts of Oter Gao (Horti Dev. Officer) and his associates for successfully hosting the state level training and appreciated the CHF fraternities for widening scopes for the in-service horticulture staffers to discharge their duties in a better manner for the needy farmers. Singh and other dignitaries felicitated both, the faculties and trainees on the occasion.
DAO Ajit Pao and Dean Prof. Dr. BN Hazarika described such training programs as an opportunity for the in-service horticulture officials to boost their efficiencies learning new approaches and methods of cultivation. HDOs Oter Gao (HQ), Omi Tayeng (Mebo) and Dr. Aido Taloh (Pasighat) shared their experiences and advices with the trainees. DIPRO
