Seppa, Feb 22: On the eve of Nyokum Yullo festival, the Nyeing Namlo (VIP Gallery) at Nyokum Lapang, Seppa, and the Nyokum Rostrum along with Nyubu Namlo (Priest House) at Nyokum Lapang, Bana, were inaugurated by the Home & Indigenous Affairs Minister Mama Natung in the presence of local MLA Ealing Tallang, organising committee chairmen and secretaries, Heads of the Executing Agency, senior public leaders, and members of the Nyokum Yullo Celebration Committees.
Both infrastructure has been executed by the Rural Works Department (RWD). The newly inaugurated infrastructure have been developed to strengthen the celebration of Nyokum Yullo. These permanent facilities will greatly ease the logistical and financial burden on the community by providing dedicated spaces for ceremonial proceedings, public gatherings, and traditional rituals.
The initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to preserving indigenous heritage, promoting cultural continuity, and supporting community-driven celebrations through sustainable infrastructure development.
The gathering expressed appreciation for the timely execution of the projects and reaffirmed collective efforts towards preserving and promoting the rich cultural traditions of the indigenous people.
