ITANAGAR, Feb 18: Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Nakap Nalo on Thursday called a meeting to review the progress of the construction of the Hollongi Green Field Airport at the civil secretariat.
Speaking to reporters, Nalo informed that the review meeting is routine to be updated on the progress of work of the airport. The work progress is in full swing with workers working three shifts in a day to complete it at the earliest, he added.
“We have discussed various topics concerning the early completion of the airport. I am satisfied with the pace of work being executed by the construction agency,” he said informing that the deadline for completion of the project is 15 August 2022.
I am hopeful of its completion on time, he said.
Nalo,  also informed that the construction work of the greenfield airport was halted several times due to various reasons. "Tender process for few projects of the airport has been re-scheduled but we are hopeful that it will be completed within couple of months."
“As of now the levelling of the runway for the airport is almost complete and we are striving to bring the best airport to the state," he said, adding that he has also directed the agency to complete the boundary wall as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Airports Authority of India (AAI), Department of Civil Aviation, Police Department and District Administration.
