ITANAGAR, Feb 6: Faculty of Sciences, Himalayan University organized a symposium on “Advances in Nanoscience and Naotechnology”.
The keynote speaker on the topicwas, Prof. Pradip Kumar Kalita, Department of Physics, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar . The symposium was inaugurated by Registrar (HU) Dr.Vivek Mittal, Director (HU) D. Bagra, Dr.Ghanshyam- Dean (HU) Faculty of Sciences and Assistant Director Mr. P. Gagoi.
In the inaugural address, Dr.Vivek Mittal said that there are one million nanometers in a millimetre and Nanotechnology isthescience, engineering, and technology conducted at the nanoscale, which is about 1 to 100 nanometers. He said that future belongs to Nano Technology and added that Himalayan University regularly organizes these types of symposiums to keep students abreast of new technology.
Prof. Kalita, gaveadeliberation on gradual shift of all science streams in the area of Nanotechnology. The application of this technology in advancing scientific fields is quiet impressive and in future it is expected to have major impacts on all the aspects of the world and its ability to further improve daily life is limitless, he commented. From changing the way in which medicine and diagnostics procedures is given to the patients to generating new and increasing efficient ways to generate electricity, nanotechnology seems to hold the key into the future of the world, the Prof. added.
Dr.Ghanshyam Singh, Dean, Faculty of Science gave the vote of thanks. He said that it was a very good learning experience for the students and faculty of theuniversity and in future too Himalayan University will organize such type of symposium. In the end the keynote speaker was honoured with amemento.
