Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
PASIGHAT, Jun 30: The week-long Help Desk set up by the Sigar Military Station at the Pasighat Town Club in close coordination with AAUN Foundation and East Siang District Administration is witnessing immense participation by women towards joining Indian Army. According to official sources, hundreds of candidates turned out for online registration during the last five days, however 69 single, physically fit girls with matriculation degree successfully registered their names.
The Army in a statement said that receiving an overwhelming response from the exuberant female candidates, the Help Desk would be extended for two more days, till July 3 next. President AAUN Foundation, Retired Group Captain (IAF) Mohonto Panggin Pao informed that training would be imparted to all the registered girls so that they could take part in the ensuing recruitment rally in Shillong. Earlier also two batches of boys were trained by us and sixty of them are now serving the nation as Indian Army, he added. DIPRO
