ITANAGAR, Jul 12: The heavy torrential rain that wreaked havoc in various parts of state reportedly caused extensive damage in Kamba Administrative Circle in West Siang District.

According to source, a suspension bridge connecting Nomuk to Kato village was completely damaged due to flood causing numerous hardships to the commuters.

The suspension bridge of Sessi Likar village which connects it from Kamba also damaged in the landslide.

The suspension bridge over Yomgo River connecting Kambu Village was partially damaged due to high rise in water level of Yomgo. More than 10 electric poles were washed away in Kambu village causing disruption of power supply.

The Siru Tali Hydel was damaged in the rain while roads connecting Nomuk and Kato villages were also blocked due to mudslides and landslides in several locations. The flood water also damaged building and walls of Sere Tali Primary School.

The flood water also caused extensive damage to the low lying paddy field wherein around 250 families are said to be affected.

Due to erosion on the left bank of Yomgo River various horticulture and agriculture crops and lands have been damaged.

Meanwhile, local MLA-cum-Parliamentary Secretary S&YA, Nyamar Karbak, who is in constant touch with the Administration, today appealed the state government for providing necessary relief and fund for early restoration of the damages caused in the area.

While directing the officials to be vigilant and prepare to contain any kind of situation, Karbak further appealed the denizens to stay alert and choose safer places during heavy rainfall.
