Yingkiong, May 8: In the wake of continuous heavy downpour, the Tuting -Yingkiong road has been blocked at several locations from Janbo to Bomdo, leaving the administrative centre Tuting Sub-Division to be cut-off from the Upper Siang district headquarters since May 2 last. It has badly affected the daily commuters and people with medical emergencies.
Meanwhile, EAC i/c Geku also informed that Geku-Yingkiong road is also blocked due to heavy landslides and it may take time to restore the stretch.
On May 4 last, four road construction workers were buried alive on May 6 last on the Yingkiong-Tuting road when they were asleep in their tents when a landslide occurred.
