NAMSAI, Mar 18: The free Diagnostic-cum-Hearing Aid Fitment Camp organised here at the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) by Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disability (AYJNISHD) concluded today.
DC Lohit Marge Sora accompanied by his wife, colleagues and 54 speech and hearing disabled children and senior citizens were present on the concluding day. The DC thanked the university for hosting the event and the guardians of the beneficiaries for turning up in large numbers.
Dean, Education and Special Education, AUS Professor D.S.Hernwal informed that a total of 152 beneficiaries have received hearing aids during the camp and besides 27 students who have been shortlisted for availing 100% scholarship from WEM for pursuing higher education at AUS, an additional 7 students will also be accommodated. AUS Joint Registrar Himanshu Panchal informed about the establishment of an ear mould and hearing aid repair lab in the university. President, World Education Mission Dr. Ashwani Lochan announced that in collaboration with AYJNISHD, AUS will organize an employer meet in May for the trained disabled.
