Yingkiong, Dec 21: Health Secretary P. Parthiban on Saturday visited the District Hospital here to take stock of the health facilities and its readiness to extend benefits under the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY) and Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the flagship programmes of the State and Central governments respectively.
During interaction with the health officials of Upper Siang district where he was accompanied by Health Minister Alo Libang, Parthiban noted the need to equip the operation theatre, blood bank and ambulance services. While stressing on keeping the hospital clean, he suggested training the sanitary assistants on handling of bio-medical wastes and appreciated the health officials for their sincerity and services in management of COVID-19. He also visited the CHC, Mariyang and interacted with the staff. On being reported regarding encroachment of hospital premises, he asked the medical officer in-charge to identify the properties of the Health Department in coordination with the local administration and propose for construction of boundary wall to protect the properties.
The Health Secretary also directed to initiate follow-up action for installation of VSAT to access internet services and empanel the facility under CMAAY and AB-PMJAY. He was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer-CMAAY and President of Indian Medical Association (IMA)-Arunachal Pradesh branch during his tour.
