ITANAGAR, Jun 3: In view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, Health Minister Alo Libang has appealed the people not to panic and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to contain the pandemic.
Libang, further added that state government and Health Department under the supervision of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is well prepared to fight against the pandemic.
"As of now 28 active cases have been detected but all are asymptomatic. The infected people are in sound health and our dedicated health warriors are hourly monitoring the situation," stated the Minister.
While extending gratitude to the COVID warriors who are working day and night to contain the pandemic, the Minister also extended gratitude to the CBOs and NGOs who are extending a helping hand during the lockdown.
The cases may rise in coming days as many stranded people and students are still coming back to the state, however, we all have to show our responsibility and cooperate with the administration and the government in this trying times.
It is important to mention that our state government has taken significant measures to take swab sample from every stranded people who are entering the state, so that there would not be any chances of spreading the pandemic, asserted the Minister while informing that not all states have such measures.
Libang further said  ‘We cannot fight this pandemic alone. We need the support of each and everyone, so I appeal every denizen of the state to cooperate with the government and follow all the SOPs like maintaining social distancing, wearing mask, sanitization and avoid social gathering  to contain the pandemic.'
