TAWANG, Apr 3: A free medical camp under Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh (MMRKK) was conducted today at Rho village under Mogto Assembly Constituency in Tawang district. 
Specialist doctors like paediatricians, ophthalmologists, gynaecologists, orthopaedic surgeons and medicine specialists from KDS District Hospital led by District Medical Officer Dr Wangdi Lama conducted the health check-ups. As per earlier schedule the medical camp was supposed to be held at Thingbu village, but couldn’t be conducted due to road blockade, Nodal Officer for MMRKK camps, Dr Thuten Tsering informed. ZPC, Tawang Leki Gombu while conveying gratitude to the medical team assured to provide all support for similar camps coming up in the district. EAC Thingbu Pemtan Monpa took his first Covid vaccine dose to encourage the villagers to come forward to take the vaccine. A total of 186 villagers from Rho and Jangda villages were benefitted and around 45 laboratory tests, 27 ECGs, 11 Vector Borne Disease screenings and 40 refraction tests with free distribution of spectacles were conducted. 153 citizens above 45 years of age also received Covid vaccine shots during the camp.
As a mark of gratitude, the villagers arranged a lunch for the visiting medical team and honoured them with Khadas (scarfs). DIPRO
