ITANAGAR, Oct 5: The Galo Youth Organization (GYO) on Monday urged the Chief Engineer, PHE Department(Eastern Zone) to restore the Dali mini hydropower house and water supply pipeline in Ego Valley under Leparada district which was damaged in the flash flood triggered by rainfall on September 17.
In a representation, GYO while referring to its recent visit to the area to assess the damages informed that the flood has severely damaged the mini-hydropower house and water tank including pipelines which supplies water to Dali, Padi, and Ego camp.
Also mentioning that the residents of the area are living in a miserable condition without electricity and potable water, the GYO lamented that in this 21st century, the people of the area are being denied good roads, electricity, and water which is considered as three fundamental basic needs for the survival of a human being.
Meanwhile, GYO also expressed concern over the slow pace of highway construction work and observed that construction companies are not serious about completing the project, claiming that only 25 percent has so far been completed.
The GYO visiting team comprised of Vice President (Admin), Geken Boje , Legal Advisor, Sijum Yinyo, General Secretary, Luknyak Kena and others.
