ITANAGAR, Nov 17: Minister Skill Development, Textile & Handicraft etc. Er. Tumke Bagra on Monday inaugurated a Skill Development Training Programme meant for imparting skill and encouraging entrepreneurship among the youths and members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Atma Nirbhar Galo Gumin organised by the Galo Welfare Society (GWS).
Inaugurating the programme which is a part of the ‘Skilling Galo’ initiative, Bagra highlighted the initiatives of the Central government in skill development and entrepreneurship among youths and lauded the efforts of the GWS for launching the training programme. GWS President Er. Tanga Kena while encouraging the participants to undergo the training sincerely informed that two best participants from each trade will be provided equipment after completion of training. GWS General Secretary Gomar Basar urged the participants to explore the entrepreneurship possibilities in the state and pursue the aim of becoming job creators instead of job seekers. Chairperson of the steering committee spearheading the training programme Dr. Rime Ngulom Potom shared the training details and exhorted the participants to take up the training sessions seriously. Chairman of the empanelled facilitating NGO Yomjum Yomgam also spoke on the occasion.

Altogether, 55 participants selected from all the regions of Galo Gumin will be pursuing the courses in three trades having durations ranging from 15 days to a month in tailoring, baking and handicraft. GWS PR
