ITANAGAR, Oct 3: The Galo Welfare Society Women felicitated Rubu Yape Hokom for being conferred the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award 2020 by the President of India Ramnath Kovind, for her exceptional work in saving hundreds of lives during Covid 19 pandemic and her excellent performance as a nurse in her 28 years of service life. 
GWS team led by the Vice President GWS (CEC) Dr Rime Ngulom Potom and President GWS (Women Wing) Mipu Sora Ori felicitated Hokom at her residence recently.
Hokom hails from Dula village of Maro Circle of Upper Subansiri District.  
"The entire Galo community is very proud of her. The Galo Welfare Society wishes her a very happy and prosperous life," it said in a release.
