ITANAGAR, Jun 22: The Galo Students’ Union which is currently on a mission to get first-hand information about the abysmal performance of students in the recently declared CBSE results in Galo inhabited areas, on Saturday stated that shortage of subject teachers and lack of school infrastructures are the main causes and the need of the hour is to find remedial measures.
GSU has gathered these facts from its recently launched consultative coordination meetings in various places, involving school management development committee, principals and headmasters and is of the opinion that the scenario is also the same all across the state. 
On reaching Dumporijo Circle in Upper Subansiri on Saturday the team convened a meeting with all the BEOs, Principals and Headmasters. Interacting with the school authorities, GSU President Mepe Ete stated that results of CBSE 2018-19 from Galo inhabited areas were very disappointing and the entire community wants to know the exact causes attributing to the poor performance of students. He appealed all the Principals and Headmasters to ensure that performance of the students improve in coming days with continuous efforts from the subject teachers.
Ete also appealed parents to cooperate with school administration and avoid interfering in school management affairs. The meeting was attended by Principal GHSS Dumporijo, Headmasters of GSS Baririjo, GSS Paka, Bara Ropuk and SMDCs of all schools under Dumporijo circle.
Meanwhile, the GSU team appealed the newly elected local MLA, Rode Bui, to give special impetus to improve the sectors of education, health and road communication of the area. GSU Press Release
