ITANAGAR, Jul 18:

Baffled over repeated extension of time period for submission of report by the Group of Ministers (GoM) regarding the Lower Siang District issue, the Galo Students Union has requested Chief Secretary and Secretary to the Cabinet not to extend more time but issue necessary direction to the GoM to submit the report as per schedule.

In a memorandum, the GSU also cautioned that it will be compelled to launch non-cooperation movement on  August 15 next, if the government fails to make the district functional before August 10 next.

Also seeking explanation from CS for giving time extension to GOM again and again, GSU regretted that if the State Government takes up the issue in same pace then functionalization of Lower Siang District will remain a dream.

Such delay from State Government implies towards step motherly treatment to the Galo Community and playing with their sentiment, added GSU. Furthermore, it also sought posting of DC and SP along with other HoDs for early and smooth functioning of the LSD.
