ITANAGAR, Dec 13:  More than 200 aspiring Galo candidates for the upcoming Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination undertook a preliminary examination to qualify for a free Special Crash Course.
Altogether 110 candidates who would qualify the prelims will be provided a special crash course with special emphasis on Mathematics. The mock exercise was conducted by the Galo Students’ Union (GSU) under the aegis of the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) at the Arunodaya government higher secondary school, here.
GSU general secretary Deny Boje informed that more than 200 candidates have turned up for the prelims from all districts under Galo belt and also from districts such as Upper Subansiri, Namsai, Changlang etc., where members of the Galo community are present.
Stressing on the difficulty in Mathematics for a candidate with a degree in Arts, Boje said that the mock exercise was necessitated to boost confidence and calibre of aspiring candidates.
Meanwhile, GWS president informed that the top 110 candidates will be selected while considering equal representation from all districts concerned and five seats out of the total will be reserved for Galo candidates who reside in other districts.
He added that the exercise is being conducted on a pilot basis from the limited funds they had collected through donations by respective MLAs and community members of the Galo inhabiting constituencies.
