ITANAGAR, Nov 2: The Galo People’s Federation (GPF) in a representation to the Chief Minister’s Office has requested him to send a Cabinet/High Power Committee to assess the condition of the flood-affected people of Ego Valley in Lepa Rada district.
“We appreciate your concern for the Ego flood tragedy and your intervention for immediate restoration of the road between Likabali-Aalo via Ego through a temporary bridge made of concrete cement and pipe. However, if a Cabinet Committee or High Power Committee visits the spot, it would surely result in some relief to the victims as well as the entire Galo community,” the representation mentioned. The GPF however said that despite submission of spot verification reports including a few points seeking early consideration from the CM, no action has been initiated so far.
It can be recalled that the GPF had earlier sought a minimum of 10 crore special relief package for Ego Valley and bravery award for Jumken Doke for saving the life of a 3-year old child. The Federation has also requested the CM to appoint a few Advisers/Chairman from the Galo community in this regard.
Meanwhile, the GPF has expressed its displeasure over not selecting the members of the Galo community while choosing the Advisers/Chairman under GoAP.
