ITANAGAR, Mar 27: The 3-day Block level Training of Trainers (ToT) on PRI-SHG-CBO convergence for preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan-My Village My Development Plan (GPDP-MVMDP) concluded today in Yachuli.
Conducted by the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (SIRD & PR) in collaboration with ArSRLM in Namsai and Sagalee besides Yachuli, the ToT aimed at equipping the primary level SHG leaders with the required knowledge necessary for effective participation in preparation of GPDP-MVMDP and the Gram Sabhas to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system. The training covered topics like PRIs, powers and functions of Gram Sabhas, overview on rural development programmes such as MGNREGA, PMAY, SBM, NSAP, preparation of GPDP-MVMDP through PRA method etc. GPDP-MVMDPs were prepared in all the above three venues for a selected gram panchayat in the respective Block as part of training. In the feedback session, the SHGs requested the SIRD & PR to conduct such training with the PRI leaders twice a year for effective handholding of PRIs and SHGs.
Around 100 SHG leaders from the three Blocks were trained in GPDP-MVMDP preparation.
SIRD & PR and BMMU, ArSRLM Namsai conducted the ToT in Namsai district from March 24-26 at the BMMU Training Hall of ArSRLM, Namsai which was attended by the SHGs members from 30 Primary Level Federations (PLFs).
State Level Master Trainer Tamar Baki from SIRD & PR besides imparting the training also screened a short movie to give a better understanding of GPDP-MVMDP for the participants. The women SHG members were trained to prepare GPDP-MVMDP through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). On the final day the participants presented a couple of sample GPDPs, social resource maps and seasonal calendar of their selected areas. The trainees were awarded with certificates on completion of training.
