AALO, Mar 13: Minister, Health & Family Welfare etc. Alo Libang accompanied by MLA Aalo East Advocate Kento Jini and officials of the West Siang District Administration today visited the General Hospital here in the township.
The team which also included DC Moki Loyi inspected the ICU, maternity ward, male and female wards, operation theatre, X-Ray and emergency rooms.
Addressing the doctors, officers and medical staff, Libang appreciated the DA, DMO and his team and civil society for waging a cohesive war against Covid-19 pandemic and in taking forward the vaccination target in the district. While urging the doctors and staff to deliver the best health services, the Health Minister admitted that the government is facing problems in allocating the required human resources in many General and District hospitals. However, rationalization of transfer and posting of doctors to mitigate the urgent needs in many places is being carried out, he informed. Many doctors placed under various programmes are also being appealed to give treatment services beyond their assigned duties, Libang added, while stating that opening of PHCs, CHCs and sub-centres in places not feasible or not according to needs should be discouraged.
Recalling his pre-election agenda which assured inclusion of modern infrastructure and equipment at the General Hospital, the Aalo East MLA highlighted the need for establishing two dialysis units. Appealing the doctors to be patient-friendly, he assured to provide a Yono Health Care ATM from his behalf as part of the equipment modernization efforts.
Giving an overall status of the hospital’s functioning through a PowerPoint Presentation, DMO Dr Moli Riba placed a three-point memorandum pertaining to posting of six GDMOs, creation of a training-cum-conference hall and establishment of a CT scan building, all highly essential for its proper functioning. Senior Dental Surgeon Dr Onima Lollen also spoke on the occasion. DIPRO
