 ITANAGAR, Apr 8:  A first of its kind, representatives of government drivers from various northeastern states attended the first meeting of the northeastern state government driver’s forum (NESGDF) was held here today at conference hall of Directorate of Panchayati Raj.

 The meeting was held with an aim to discuss various grievances of the members as well as to take resolution for drivers’ welfare and security. 

The  President, all India state government drivers forum central committee, New Delhi, Milan Rajbhansi and Advisor, north east state government drivers forum, Jotindra Nath Bora attended the meeting as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

 Speaking to the media, general secretary all Arunachal Pradesh government drivers association (AAPGDA) Tabia Apa informed that the meeting is being attended by the representatives from all the northeastern states, except Tripura and Mizoram.

 ‘Such general conference will be conducted every year in different states of north east,’ he informed. 

Speaking on the occasion, Milan Rajbhansi also urged the state units to be connected to its central team and to inform all activities to the state association. He further assured to extend all kind of support to the state unit for their security and welfare measures, while appealing its members to be discipline and prompt in their job.

Meanwhile various resolutions were taken for the welfare of drivers.
