ITANAGAR, Jan 12: Scientist from the Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Tezpur Dr Soumya Chatterjee today called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at the Raj Bhavan to apprise him on DRL-developed bio-toilets suitable for various terrains particularly those in high-altitude and hill areas. 
Dr Chatterjee briefed the Governor about the latest technologies developed by the DRL for bio-toilets through a PowerPoint Presentation. While appreciating DRDO’s scientific achievements, the Governor who has been one of the torch bearers in cleanliness drives in the state suggested the DRL representative to construct similar bio-toilets in Arunachal Pradesh. He further requested to launch a pilot programme by installing some bio-toilets in the extended complex near Lower Birup Colony in the capital so that similar projects can be taken up in other parts of the state.
