ITANAGAR, Jul 15: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today convened a high-level meeting on rural road connectivity with special reference to the 157 km stretch Miao-Vijoynagar Road here at Raj Bhavan.
The meeting was attended by Rural Works Department Minister Honchun Ngandam, Urban Development & Civil Supplies Minister Kamlung Mosang, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Lalramthanga, IFS, the RWD’s Secretary Kapa Kholie, IAS, Chief Engineer Doli Nyodu and Executive Engineer M. Rike.
Emphasising on strengthening rural road connectivity to bring socio-economic development of the rural communities in every corner of the state, Governor said that officials and concerned authorities must go into the details of each project and work with anticipation to remove the possible causes of delay in road construction.
Concerned officers must take up rural connectivity in a mission mode and the road projects must be planned for long term use with due emphasis on durability, Governor advised all present in the meeting. He also added that if conventional methods of road construction are not feasible due to the state’s difficult terrain and climate, implementing agencies must use latest alternate technologies.
Referring to Miao-Vijoynagar Road, he said that a concerted effort is needed by all to expedite construction of the road. PRO Raj Bhavan
