ITANAGAR, May 16: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik, (Retd.) has condoled the sudden demise of former Minister Chow Tewa Mein. He said that in Mein’s passing, the State has lost an iconic leader and first generation political steward of Arunachal Pradesh.
Joining the people of the State, the Governor prayed to the Almighty to give the members of the bereaved family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and eternal peace for the departed soul.
State Assembly Speaker PD Sona in his condolence message, described late C T Mein as a distinguished statesman and a beloved leader who played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Arunachal Pradesh. 
"His contributions to the political landscape of Arunachal Pradesh were immense. His visionary leadership, profound understanding of governance, and tireless efforts to uplift the lives of the people have left an indelible mark on our state's history. His absence will be deeply felt by the entire political fraternity and the people of Arunachal Pradesh. I on behalf of Assembly family and on my own express heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, especially Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who has lost a dear brother and a guiding light," the message read. 
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Arunachal Pradesh held a condolence meeting at State BJP headquarters  today to pay homage to the veteran political figure.
State BJP Vice-President, Tarh Tarak  termed Mein's untimely demise as a great loss for the people of Arunachal Pradesh as whole.
