ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) on Monday reviewed the internal and external security preparedness of the state during a meeting here at the Raj Bhavan attended by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command (EAC) Air Marshal Amit Dev, AVSM, VSM.
Contending that along with air prowess, the Indian Air Force (IAF) must instil a sense of security among the people of Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor suggested that the IAF must continue its compassionate flights in delivering basic commodities of sustenance such as ration etc. to the local population at places where airlifting is the only logistics alternative. He suggested that the issue of outstanding bills of the IAF waiting to be cleared by the state must be resolved at the earliest and called for activating the Advance Landing Grounds (ALGs) for civilian purposes especially for catering to medical emergencies. Commending the EAC for conducting a number of humanitarian and rescue exercises in the state during natural calamities, the Governor expressed hope that such gesture will be continued in future. The Chief Minister who visited the remote villages across the Indo-Tibetan border shared his observations and sought humanitarian assistance from the IAF at times of emergencies and natural disasters.  
Earlier the AOC-in-C, EAC who assumed command on October 1 last 2020, apprised the Governor and the Chief Minister about IAF’s preparedness in the Northeast and briefed about the upcoming humanitarian and operational initiatives. PRO Raj Bhavan
