ITANAGAR, May 7: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) reviewed the work progress of the strategic Miao-Vijoynagar road during a meeting here at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
Rural Works Department (RWD) Minister Honchun Ngandam, Urban Development Minister & MLA Miao-Vijoynagar Kamlung Mosang and RWD Chief Engineer Er. Doli Nyodu attended the meeting maintaining social distancing. Appreciating the RWD engineers and those involved in construction of the road for making significant progress, Governor said it will go a long way in ensuring territorial integrity and national security. The road, once completed will bring development and prosperity to this remote area and help in protection and preservation of the flora and fauna of Namdapha National Park.
Governor, who has been advocating the need for this strategic road said its completion will pave the way for boosting various forms of tourism such as eco, wildlife, adventure, environmental and cultural etc. Such activities will not only boost the state’s economy but also bring prosperity to local communities, he said, urging the people involved in the project to walk that extra mile for its early completion.
The attending Ministers and RWD Chief Engineer apprised the Governor about the project’s progress and shared details regarding the steps taken for making it an all-weather road. PRO Raj Bhavan
