Naharlagun, Nov 12: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today participated in Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations here at the Gurudwara Saheb and paid obeisance to Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikh community.
Governor while greeting the people on the pious occasion expressed hope that Guru Nanak Devji’s messages of peace, brotherhood and development will be further percolate in the hearts and minds of the people. Sharing his war experiences and daily life events with the people of the Sikh community, including the Sikh soldiers of Indian Army, he said that helping attitude and selfless service are the hallmarks of their behavioural pattern. A large number of people from various communities of the state participated in the celebration followed by a decent lunch service to every visitor.
It can be recalled that thisGurudwara Singh Sabha was established way back in 1974 as a temporary hamlet and subsequently the Sangat of Itanagar constructed a proper building for it. It has a six-room Yatri Nivash run by the Gurudwara Committee to provide shelter to any individual coming from outside the Capital Complex. PRO Raj Bhavan
