NEW DELHI, Feb 10: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) met Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC here in the national capital on Tuesday wherein they discussed matters relating to national security and Armed Forces stationed in Arunachal Pradesh.
While sharing his observation regarding territorial integrity and spill-over militancy in eastern parts of Arunachal, the Governor complimented the Armed Forces for building a good coordination with the State Police, administration and the state’s people. Conveying his compliments to the CDS for pursuing the policy of creating awareness about careers in the Armed Forces among youths through recruitment rallies in the state, the Governor suggested for intensifying the initiative.
The CDS was briefed about the plan of erecting the Major Bob Khathing Memorial in Tawang to commemorate the consolidation of civil administration by Major Khathing on February 14, 1953. The Governor also invited the CDS to attend the historic foundation stone laying ceremony of the memorial. PRO Raj Bhavan
