Yupia, Sep 28: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today inaugurated the Two-Day National Conference on the theme ‘Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi today’ here at the National Institute of Technology campus.
Governor said that teachings of all the ancient saints and philosophers, including Gandhi are relevant even today. Strengthening of villages and panchayats, forgiveness, non-conceitedness, cleanliness, control over senses, fortitude, knowledge and truth are what the country has learnt from Mahatma Gandhi, he said. Earlier, Director NIT, Professor P. Mahanta briefed on the initiative of the Gandhi Study Centre in promotion of Gandhian philosophy which was inaugurated by the Governor on October 2, 2018.
First Lady of the State Neelam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University Professor Saket Kushwaha, Director NERIST, Professor H.S. Yadav, former Vice Chairman, UGC and former Vice Chancellor of Central University of Haryana, Professor (Dr.) Mool Chand Sharma, Professor (Dr.) Naresh Dadhich and faculty and students of NIT were present on the occasion.
