Itanagar, Jan 5: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has extended warm greetings to the people of the State, especially to the Tagin community on the auspicious occasion of Si Donyi Hilo. He expressed hope that the sacred celebration would continue to strengthen and enrich the splendid cultural heritage, time-honoured traditions, and spiritual values of our State.
In his message, the Governor said that nature worship and the reverent invocation of divine forces and ancestral spirits form the very foundation of the faith of our indigenous communities, and the Si Donyi Hilo beautifully reflects this deep-rooted belief system. With its profound religious, cultural, and emotional significance, Si Donyi stands as the most important festival of the Tagin tribe. Interwoven with unique customs, rituals, and community bonding, the festival is cherished by all and symbolizes the Tagins’ faith in the omnipotent Si Donyi as the supreme guardian of all living beings on earth. I am confident that our Tagin brethren will continue to celebrate this festival with renewed zeal and devotion, while preserving and promoting its sublime philosophy, moral values, and age-old traditions, he said.
On this joyous and sacred occasion, I join my Tagin brethren in offering prayers to Almighty Si Donyi and seek their blessings for peace, harmony, good health, abundant harvests, and good fortune for every individual, and for continued prosperity and well-being across Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor said in his message.
