ITANAGAR, Sep 23: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has greeted the people of the State and the Idu Mishmi community in particular on the auspicious occasion of Ke Meh Ha. He expressed hope that the festivity will usher in prosperity and happiness in society.
In his message, the Governor said that agriculture, since time immemorial, has been the main occupation of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Resultantly, all the festivals are linked to agricultural activities and the people have been celebrating them in that manner. Our celebrations and rituals have become a vehicle for preservation and promotion of our traditions and cultural heritage. Let us promote our rich history and customs and also be proud of our ethos, the Governor said while urging the younger generation to take active part in the community celebrations which link all to their roots.
On this festive day, I join my Idu Mishmi brethren in their prayer to Apeh Milih of Apesha, the Goddess of crops and Manu, the spirit of field and granary to invoke their blessings for each one of us, the Governor said.
I take this opportunity also to appeal to my dear people to strictly comply with the COVID-19 protocol and COVID appropriate behaviour to remain safe from this pandemic, the Governor appealed.
