DIRANG, Apr 7:  Governor PB Acharya has called upon the Government officials to go the extra mile to ensure that the fruits of development reach to every section of society in an equitable manner. Be the agent of ‘change’ for New India. Reach out to the people with changed mind set and motivate them, the Governor exhorted, while interacting with government officials at Dirang on Friday.

‘We have to empower the poorest of the poor to empower our society, the State and the Country. Work with spirit of fellowship and always remember sharing is most important principle of life. Have a humane approach towards all,’ he said.

The Governor also advised the officials to create awareness on various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments.

Earlier, Dagbom Riba, Additional Deputy Commissioner briefed the Governor on the Dirang ADC Circle.

Later the Governor accompanied by State’s First Lady Kavita Acharya visited a house of an entrepreneur Kunjo Wangmo and saw her handicraft and handloom products. Wangmo informed that there is huge demand for traditional handloom items in the district and other districts like Tawang.

Impressed by her exclusive products, the Governor advised her and other women involved in handloom and handicrafts works to form cooperative societies.

‘When you have an available market, you should train more people in traditional handlooms and handicrafts and engaged them,’ the Governor stressed.
