In his message, the Governor said that the social customs, values, rituals and folklores of the people are the foundation of their social heritage, which connect them to their past. These traditions we have inherited from our forebears, have been passed down to us from one generation to another.  In this process, the festivals are the important vehicles to carry forward the cultural assets of the folds. In our agrarian society, most of the festivals are associated with agriculture. Podi Barbi is one such festival of our society. Lest we forget our past, let us all cherish these festivities, he said.

On the occasion of Podi Barbi, I offer my prayers to Almighty Donyi Polo for peace and prosperity for everyone, the Governor said in his message.
