ITANAGAR,  July 9: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) greeted the people of the state and all Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Eid al Adha (Bakra Eid).
The Governor said that Eid al Adha (Bakra Eid) reminds all of the absolute trust of Ibrahim (Abraham) in the Almighty and his spirit of sacrifice. He expressed his hope that the festivity will consolidate and integrate all faiths in universal brotherhood, promoting respect, peace and prosperity across the country.
In his message, the Governor further said that Eid al Adha festival is celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety in India and other parts of the world with special prayer meetings for the well being of human beings. This occasion is happily marked with the distribution of gifts and food items to relatives, neighbours and the needy. In essence, this festival is meant to enhance goodwill, amity and cordiality among the people, he said.
May this sacred occasion strengthen our composite culture and unity and integrity of the society and the Nation, the Governor wished in his message.
