ITANAGAR, Dec 31: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), Chief Minister Pema Khandu and State Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona have wished 'Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2021' to the people of the state.
Recounting 2020 as one of the most challenging years for the state, nation and world due to COVID pandemic that took an unprecedented toll on human lives and ravaged economy and livelihoods of millions, the Governor in his message hoped 2021 will herald progress, peace, amity and prosperity for the state. While commending the fightback efforts of the country and the state under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, he said the recent successful conduct of PR and Municipal elections and people’s enthusiastic participation is a reflection of strong democratic awareness of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
“In the spirit of new year’s resolution, let us pledge to fight and defeat the corona pandemic and forge ahead to make our state ‘Aatma Nirbhar’,” Governor’s message read.
Extending his new year greetings to the state’s people, the Chief Minister expressed optimism that 2021 will be an opportunity to start afresh and work towards rebuilding after the pandemic.
While expressing gratitude to the state’s healthcare and frontline workers, administration, women, Community Based Organizations and volunteers for shielding the common people from deadly coronavirus and saving precious lives risking their own lives, the Chief Minister also prayed for eternal peace of those who lost the Covid battle and extended solidarity with the aggrieved families.
“Let 2020 become a distant memory and let’s celebrate 2021 with joy and happiness,” he wished in his message.
