ITANAGAR, Apr 4: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland PB Acharya and Chief Minister Pema Khandu has greeted the people of the state particularly the Galo community on the festive occasion of Mopin.

In his message, the Governor expressed hope that the celebration will bring prosperity and contentment not only to the community but also to the whole of humanity. It is my firm belief that it will strengthen the emotional integration, brotherhood and mutual understanding amongst the citizens and bring happiness and tranquillity in society, the Governor further said.

Wishing the festival to usher in peace, brotherhood and prosperity in state, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the festival is observed to invoke the blessings of Goddess Ane Mopin. He wished and prayed for good fortune, a bumper harvest and a prosperous new year. 

Appreciating the elegant dance of ‘Popir’, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the festivity will go a long way in preserving and promoting the age-old cultural heritage.
