ITANAGAR, Feb 11: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), Chief Minister Pema Khandu and State Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona have extended their greetings to the state’s people on the joyous occasion of Losar, the New Year festival of the Buddhist community.
“Let us start the new year with a progressive vision, strength and renewed zeal to wipe out all evils and negativity. May the Losar festivity bring pleasure, peace and protection from COVID,” the Governor said in his message.
“A very happy Losar, the first day of the Wood Iron Ox year of 2148,” the Chief Minister said in his greetings. “I pray to Lord Buddha on this holy occasion to bestow our people with good health and prosperity and let this year be the end of the corona pandemic,” his message read.
The State Assembly Speaker in his message expressed hope the Buddhist New Year would bring peace, progress and prosperity for the state’s people. “On this auspicious occasion, I offer my prayers to Lord Buddha to bless each one of us with his choicest blessings,” he said in his greetings.
