ITANAGAR, Jan 5: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), Chief Minister Pema Khandu and State Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona have extended their greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Si-Donyi, the most important festival of the Tagin tribe which will be celebrated on Wednesday.
Terming the festival a rich cultural heritage of the Tagins, the Governor hoped the festive binding of the community with nature will continue to grow. “On this joyous occasion, I offer my prayers to Almighty Si-Donyi to protect all of us against coronavirus and grant blessings for promoting peace, communal harmony and good harvest,” he said in his message.
Conveying his greetings, the Chief Minister expressed hope the festival would usher in a prosperous New Year and take Arunachal Pradesh on an unprecedented path of development. “May this Si-Donyi mark the beginning of the end of COVID,” he said in his message while urging the state’s people to follow all SOPs.
The Assembly Speaker in his message while extending best wishes hoped the festivity will usher in peace, good health and prosperity for all.
