ITANAGAR, Nov 30: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Indigenous Faith Day to be celebrated on Tuesday.
Elaborating on the significance of the day, the Governor said Arunachal Pradesh is the home of many indigenous tribes, each having their respective unique culture, beliefs and practices conserved and passed on from generation to generation for centuries. In order to strengthen the spirit of indigeneity, age-old traditions of the indigenous people must be respected and promoted, he said.
“On this joyous occasion, I offer my prayers to the Almighty to invoke blessings for each one of us,” the Governor said in his message, while appealing all citizens to fight and defeat coronavirus by strictly following all SOPs.
Conveying his wishes on the occasion, the Chief Minister urged the people of the state to take pride in the cultural heritage and work zealously for its preservation.
“I take this opportunity to appeal to the youths of today to learn, practice and speak in their mother tongue. Our indigenous languages are our connection to the rich cultural heritage of our forefathers and we should not let them fade away.
