ITANAGAR, Jul 4: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended their warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Dree Festival of the Apatani community.
In his message to the people, Governor said that Dree Festival is an agrarian celebration which not only carries the vibrant culture and traditions of the Apatani Tribe but also reinforces the splendid cultural fabric of Arunachal Pradesh. He has appealed to the elders and youth to take pride in their ethnicity and customs and preserve it for the posterity. May this Dree festivity usher in good harvest and prosperity, the Governor wished in his message.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu while extending warm greetings, conveyed his deep sense of appreciation to the community for safeguarding and promoting the rich Apatani culture and tradition and passing it to the younger generation.
“Ours is a distinct state with several tribes and communities residing side by side for ages and maintaining their own unique indigenous culture and traditions. Despite our varied diversity, we as Arunachalees are united and take pride in our indigenous cultural heritage.
