ITANAGAR, May 25: Governor Brig. (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have conveyed their warm greetings to the people of the state and to the Buddhist community in particular on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima to be celebrated on Wednesday.
May the pious occasion inspire all to imbibe the teachings of Lord Buddha, one of the greatest spiritual teachers of all times for the enduring wellbeing of each one in society, the Governor wished in his message.  Joining the state’s people in offering prayers to Lord Buddha for his choicest blessing to overcome the COVID crisis, the Governor has urged all Arunachalees to follow COVID appropriate behaviour and SOPs.
With Lord Buddha’s blessings we will defeat COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor said in his message. Extending his good wishes on the occasion, the Chief Minister who is a devout Buddhist himself called upon the people irrespective of religious affiliations to reflect on Lord Buddha’s teachings of compassion, peace and honesty, the virtues he said are losing out to modern day’s materialistic cravings.

“May the full moon of Buddha Purnima drive away the darkness of ignorance, bigotry and hatred and herald an era of contentment, peace and enlightenment for the world!” his message added.
