ITANAGAR, Mar 2: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) today discussed issues relating to the ongoing development projects in the state and welfare measures drawn for the state’s people in mitigating the challenges posed by COVID-19 with Chief Minister Pema Khandu when the latter called on him at the Raj Bhavan.
The Governor who inspected the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi a day earlier shared his observations with the Chief Minister and opined that if the various components of the prestigious project are not expedited, completion will be difficult. Reiterating his observations which he made while visiting the site, the Governor suggested for simultaneous increase in workforce, plants, machineries and working shifts for reaching the completion deadline. He also shared his concern regarding rampant encroachment of the Reserve Forest Area near the airport.
Discussing about the ongoing Miao-Vijoynagar PMGSY road project with the Chief Minister, the Governor while stressing on the need for speeding up works, advised for multi-pronged work points. On account of its long stretch of 157 km, there must be five to six simultaneous work points on both ends, he said, drawing attention to the need for constructing bridges over the rivulets coming on the way. While opining that the implementing agencies should place the fabrication orders for the said bridges, the Governor emphasised on early commencement of construction works of the embankments, abutments and approach roads. The Governor also discussed posting of good officers to relieve the present Controller of Examinations, APPSC and an officer to assist him.

Noting that Apiculture has a big scope in Arunachal Pradesh and the state has the potential to become the highest honey producer in the Northeast, he suggested appointment of appropriate number of staff and allocation of resources for the purpose.
