ITANAGAR, Nov 25: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended their warm greetings to all the citizens of the state on the occasion of Constitution Day.
Reminding that this year is the 70th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution, Governor exhorted all to acknowledge with gratitude, the contributions of the great freedom fighters, particularly Dr. Rajendra Prasad, President of the Constituent Assembly, who later became the First President of India and Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the head of the Drafting Committee, who later became the First Minister for Law and Justice of the nation.
On this occasion, I appeal to all my fellow citizens of Arunachal Pradesh to uphold the sanctity of the Indian Constitution particularly the Fundamental Duties as enshrined in it, his message read.
Chief Minister while greeting the people on the occasion and paying rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution and a renowned social reformer, politician and jurist, said that people of Independent India will always owe the rights and safeguards provided to them by the Constitution to this man.
“This day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly formally adopted the Constitution and we celebrate it today as a mark of gratitude and respect to them who gave us one of the world’s best Constitutions.
