ITANAGAR, Dec 1: Gauhati High Court, Itanagar Permanent Bench, Naharlagun Judge Nani Tagia today called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) here at the Raj Bhavan to discuss issues pertaining to duplicity of legal regulations relevant to Arunachal Pradesh and the ambiguity created thereof in administration of justice.
Apprising the Governor on the need for infrastructure upgradation of the GHC Itanagar Permanent Bench at Naharlagun for its convenient functioning, Justice Tagia discussed with him the details of old regulations promulgated under the British Rule including the Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice) Regulation, 1945. They also deliberated on the supersession and decommissioning of the Rules, Laws, Regulations and Acts no more conducive in the current context.
The Governor assured Justice Tagia that he and the state government will look into these matters and obtain expert legal opinion to eliminate duplication of Rules and Regulations for bringing uniformity in the process of administration of justice. He further assured the Justice to look into the requirement of infrastructure development of the Bench and advised the State Legal Department to work on the issue for an early resolution.
