ITANAGAR, Dec 31: Governor of Assam  Prof. Jagadish Mukhi, on a four-day tour to Arunachal Pradesh, arrived at Itanagar today. The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), First Lady of the State Neelam Misra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and  Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) received Prof. Mukhi and Smt Prem Mukhi at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar. Governor Mishra (Retd.) hosted a state banquet in honour of the visiting Governor and his wife.
The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh expressed hope that the maiden visit of Prof. Mukhi will further cement the age-old cordial relation between the two neighbouring States, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. He said that reinforcement of the goodwill amongst the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam will boost the socio-economic development in the region and also secure the territorial integrity of the nation.
The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, accompanied by the Governor of Assam will be visiting the easternmost village of the state, Kaho and interact with the villagers on New Year's day. They will also meet the troops guarding the frontiers during their tour to the border area.
Earlier on his arrival at Naharlagun Helipad, State Police personnel presented Guard of Honour to the Governor of Assam while at Raj Bhavan the Guard of Honour was presented by the Indo Tibetan Border Police.
